Tucson 2008

We escaped the snow and headed to Tucson to visit friends Michael and Nancy. The week started out cold and wet, warmed to the 70s, and ended with more rain. Nevertheless, we enjoyed our visit.

The atmospheric scenery from Michael and Nancy's porch:

Chef Michael cooked (the roast turned out to be much better than the fire would suggest):

We also took advantage of some of Tucson's great restaurants.

We visited Tohono Chul garden. Garden staff protected the saguaro cacti from cold weather.

We went horseback riding near Colossal Cave. The riders and their horses: Michael M. on Mike, Nancy on Comet, Sue on C.B. and Michael V. on Ted.

We took a walk in Ventana Canyon, enjoying spectacular scenery.

Thanks to our gracious hosts Michael and Nancy for a wonderful Tucson visit.

  1. What do you mean by "the roast turned out much better that the fire would suggest"?

    It was excellent

    And had a great crust

But less eyebrows than prior to cooking.

    Saved money on haircuts

  2. When my sister and her family lived in Tucson, we visited them, and it was a great trip!

My nephew and his wife live there now. Maybe it's time to visit them ...
